SENIOR COMPOSITOR
Compositors work as apart of a team under direction from the VFX supervisor and 2D lead. Candidates should have minimum of 5+ years experience using nuke in a production environment. Must work well with others as a part of a team, take direction and turn-around shots in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years experience compositing using Nuke in production
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of CG, FX, matte painting integration as well as green screen extraction, rig removal and projection.
  • Establish shot looks/match style and direction
  • Have an expert eye for color, composition and detail
  • Works well in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to take artist critique and direction.
  • The ability to mentor and advise junior compositors
  • Traditional art background and knowledgeable of stereoscopic 3D is an asset
  • Showreel showcasing most recent work and shot breakdowns

MID COMPOSITOR

FX

FX artists work under direction from the FX supervisor and are responsible for creating FX for a variety of shots.
Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years experience producing FX in Houdini and Maya in a production environment
  • Ability to provide photorealistic FX such as water, smoke, debris, explosions etc.
  • To remain organized and in communication with production and supervisor
  • Coding/scripting knowledge such as python, C++, Mel, etc.
  • Stays current with technology
  • Ability to meet deadline in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to mentor junior FX artists
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Showreel and breakdowns showcasing most recent work

MID FX ARTIST
FX artists work under direction from the FX supervisor and are responsible for creating FX for a variety of shots.

for projection in a variety of shots. Matte painters work as a part of a team under the direction of the matte painting supervisor.
Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years matte painting experience in production using Photoshop, Maya and nuke.
  • Must have excellent technical matte painting knowledge and ability to create photorealistic assets
  • Ability to match the style and aesthetic of the shot
  • Must have excellent knowledge of lighting, composition and photography. Traditional art background is an asset
  • Must have a good eye for detail, colour and ability to QC own work
  • Must be able to multitask, remain organized and have excellent communication skill
  • Must work well as a part of team and be able to take artist direction
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment within tight deadlines

MID MATTE PAINTER

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Showreel showcasing most recent work
  • Strong sense of animation basics, acting, staging, posing, weight, timing and storytelling
  • Good understanding of storytelling with the camera; framing, perspective, lenses, camera movement, continuity, composition, etcù
  • Ability to take artistic direction and provide fast turn around on feedback
