Who we are
Created by a group of passionate professionals in the film and visual effects industry, Island VFX was established in July 2018 as the first post-production and digital effects studio in Palermo, Sicily, Italy.
Island VFX's objective is to work hand in hand with clients to "make something great," bringing their vision to life.

Gabriele Ciaccio

VFX Supervisor On - Set Supervisor
He was born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, where he completed his Master's degree in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. Afterward, he attended the Vancouver Film School. Following his studies, he relocated to Montreal, where he attended the MPC Academy and was subsequently hired as a compositor. After two years, he moved to work in London at Framestore, but his stay there was brief as he accepted an offer from Mr. X in Toronto, where he remained for two years. Throughout his career, he contributed to major productions such as X-Men: Apocalypse, Doctor Strange, Fantastic 4, and acclaimed TV series like Vikings and A Series of Unfortunate Events, among many others.
The experience he gained fueled his desire to establish a post-production studio in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. He left Canada and returned to Palermo, where he is now an administrator and co-founder of Island VFX.
Giorgio Ciaccio

Producer
Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, and graduated in Economics and Business. His great perseverance, tenacity, determination and commitment, combined with over 20 years of experience, are the strong points that allow him to successfully face the challenges in the world of entrepreneurship in Sicily, a difficult and complex reality. In 2018, together with his brother Gabriele Ciaccio, he shared the idea of creating a post-production studio in Palermo, managing the purely administrative, legal and planning aspect of the Company, with particular attention to national and local tenders. Currently, he is the director and co-founder of Island VFX.
Francesco Ciulla
Co-Founder

Born in Erice, Trapani, Sicily, Italy, he initially earned a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Palermo. Later, he shifted his focus to 3D studies, becoming a tutor in modeling, lighting, and rendering. He collaborated with architectural studios and animation projects, gaining valuable experience.
In 2013, he began studying character animation and real-time 3D software. He worked on user interface design for biomed machines, renewable energy generators, interactive museum installations, and retargeting for video game animation.
During his professional journey, he crossed paths with Gabriele Ciaccio, who presented the project of establishing a post-production studio. Enthusiastically intrigued, he decided to join Gabriele and Giorgio Ciaccio. Today, he is a co-founder of Island VFX.
